ARMA ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
The activities which result from the ARMA (The Art of Reading in the Middle Ages) project aim to engage a variety of audiences by publishing content using the world-class manuscript collections of libraries and museums from across Europe and using these collections to create educational and editorial content created by experts in manuscript, incunabula and areas of research around the theme.
For people who are interested in manuscripts and the culture of the Middle Ages.
The main theme of the online exhibition is to show how people read in the Middle Ages and the role that books played. Of the following six chapters, five deal with reading and the use of books through one of the perspectives (Monasteries, Courts, Cities, People and Bookpaths). A sixth chapter focuses on the role of reading in medieval universities.
